What to expect from an office consultation

A special cushion is available to sit on during your appointment or you may lie down. If at any time you prefer to stand please do so. We want you to be as comfortable as possible. You will meet with Dr. Feigenbaum and one of his nurses. Dr. Feigenbaum will review your medical history and symptoms. Next he will perform a physical exam. You are not required to change into a patient gown but you will be asked to remove your shoes and socks. He will also view your imaging with you. He will discuss his opinion of your case and possible treatment options. If more studies are needed to determine if you are a surgical candidate then our office will assist in arranging. If surgery is offered Dr. Feigenbaum will explain the procedure and possible risks. When he has finished you will be given a chance to ask him questions. At the conclusion of your appointment you may also discuss concerns and questions with the nurse. If you decide to proceed with surgery the insurance approval process is started. This process may take a month or more. Once your insurance provider has approved the surgery you will be contacted by telephone of the next available surgery date. Surgeries tend to book out at least three months in advance.
